Written with dyslexia and beginner friendly instructions, full crochet-along videos for every stage, all designed to support you every step of the way, whether this is your first ever crochet project, or if you’ve been crocheting forever! If you find any of the stitches too challenging, or don’t like one of the tentacle options, just repeat one you do like! Create your Octopus exactly how you would like it.

The Fidget Octopus can be beneficial to neurodivergent children and adults, dementia sufferers, stroke victims, those building hand-eye co-ordination, recovering from hand injuries, young children (3 and above due to small parts), and anyone wishing to learn or build on their crochet skills.

Tentacles include Beaded, Frilled, Loops and buttons, Poppit, Marble pusher maze, Loopy, Twisty snake, and Ribbed.

What You’ll Need:

• 2 x 100g balls Chunky chenille yarn
• 1 x 100g ball DK Ombre yarn
• 5m dark navy DK yarn
• 4m pink DK yarn
• 1 skein white embroidery thread
• 100g bag of soft toy filling
• Approx. 60 Pony beads
• 1 glass marble
• 2 x 15mm wooden buttons
• 8 x stitch markers
• Size 4mm crochet hook
• Size 3mm crochet hook
• Size 6.5mm crochet hook
• Snips or embroidery scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Safety pins
